OWNER: CARYL CROUSE with great assistance and support
from my husband David
I am the mother of 2 grown daughters and the proud grandmother
of 2 grandsons. I have been involved with dogs all of my adult life. I
started out in Obedience with Labrador Retrievers. I was fortunate
to be able to combine my love of dogs and a business when I
owned and operated one of the largest training facilities in New
England, which I sold after 9/11. It was while training in obedience
that I saw and fell in love with Tibetan Terriers. I acquired my first
TT, Cooper, in 1996 and the rest as they say, is history.
Lyrac Tibetan Terriers is a small breeding program located in
Plainville, MA dedicated to maintaining the standards of this
incredible little dog. This wonderful breed, though relatively new to
the Western world, is considered one of the oldest in existence.
This is not a large kennel but rather a small program with only
about 1-2 litters per year. My goal is always quality rather than
quantity. There are no kennel runs. All of the dogs live in our home
and play together in the backyard.
I am a member of the Tibetan Terrier Club of America (look for me
on their Breeder Referral list), President of Bay Colony Tibetan
Terrier Club, on the board of both the Hockamock Kennel Club &
the Mass Federation of Dog Clubs & Responsible Dog Owners
and an AKC Breeder of Merit.
Last year was a busy year here at Lyrac. It started out with the
arrival of a beautiful litter of puppies out of my lovely Isis and
gorgeous Dexter (CH SUNCLIPSE BECUZ CHIX DIG IT) owned by
Donna Ogden. Three of those puppies are currently being shown
and are already in the ribbons. The forth has made another family
happy TT owners. Vegas started the year finishing her
Championship. Crystal honored me ending the year by winning
the Bred By Exhibitor group in December. Calli (GCh Lyrac's
Magical Calypso Melody) earned her Grand Championship, went
Select Bitch at the TTCA National under esteemed judge Ed Bivin
earning her an invitation to Crufts. She was also invited to the AKC
Eukanuba Invitational and finished the year ranking as one of
2011's top 10 Tibetan Terriers.
2012 has started out on a high note with Lyrac dog's in the
ribbons at our first show of the season in Fitchburg. Keaton took
Winner's Dog, Crystal took Winner's Bitch and Calli went Best of
Breed. A new litter of puppies is expected the end of February
which will keep us busy during March & April.
BCTTC is busy getting ready for this year's Specialty to be held on
Sat. June30th. We've changed our format and location and will
hold our show with the Hockamock KC's all breed show in
Wrentham, MA. Save the date and come to see and visit with lots
of TT's.
If you see us at any of the shows please stop & say hello.
